Re: I want to buy this PRS soapbar, should I

the soapbars were the highest quality one's in the shop as far as SE's went, IMO.

Well, OK.

All I wanted to say is that the Schecter C-1 and other much more expensive guitars are certainly not better than the PRS SEs.

I found the P-90s in the SE Soapbar to be pretty good for cleans, picking and the like but really not good for crunching. When I put a Seymour Duncan P-90 in mine I had to discover that those are a little bigger and only fit without cover. One of the reasons I gave up on P-90ties, I don't need more parts fitting headaches than guitars give you anyway.

My Soapbar SE also had a treble bleed "mod" from the factory, another sign that somebody who actually plays these things gets to have a say in what exactly they do there.

Sorry, I must have misunderstood! I did not mean to call you out :) I do agree with you, the bridge pickup does sound a little thin for crunching. I am considering having the bridge route widened on mine, so that I can try another pickup... even though that's what I wanted to avoid with this guitar. Lowering the bridge's polepieces warms it up but makes it too weak compared to the neck's sweet spot, and raising the bridge pickup any more kills the sustain. That is my only issue with the guitar so far.
