and I ran across a really weird one. I have no idea how to use.......so we'll play GUESS THAT SCALE! you don't have to guess the key. I have nothing to give so this will all be for intrinsic rewards. :D

BTW: Yes, this is a real scale but no I don't even think it soudns good. It's just too weird, probably because I don't know how to use it. :D

linky!

Re: I was looking through some scales (guess that scale)

I don't have the energy to even pick up the guitar at this moment, much less try to figure out what notes were play...and then figure out what scale that God awful mash of musical notes could be :)

But I can offer you a another bump ;)

Re: I was looking through some scales (guess that scale)

hungarian minor? are we dealing with minor/major modes too or just plain major/minor scales?

Re: I was looking through some scales (guess that scale)

it would help if you kept the bass note the same so that the scale could be more easily discerned. imho anyway lol. good idea for the scale game. I like theoretical stuff like this for some reason :)

close.

this is not a different mode.
I'll give you a hint: it only has three keys.

Cream123 has been banned for violence against other forum members with an accordian.

That was rough and I'm sure it caused the accordian to experience an ancomfortable moment as well.

I thought maybe whole tone but I heard 1/2 step intervals.

lol, it's actually a piano that sounds like an accordian. ;)

I'll give the interval pattern:

[1, 1/2,] [1, 1/2,] [1, 1/2] [1,1/2]

so in the key of C: c,d,eb, f, gb, ab, a, b, c

:D

Re: I was looking through some scales (guess that scale)

9 notes..either half tone/whole tone or whole tone/half tone..it's a c,d...so it's a whole/half tone scale. :)
