I was wondering why "little" humbuckers are screw-screw?

Why not screw-stud. Or better yet, stud-stud? I can't imagine anyone would want to "tweak" all 12 poles. I wonder what the sonic impact would be of converting a coil to stud. Or both.

FWIW there's been information posted on here in the past from SD (former) employees that the slots in the screw heads actually affects the magnetic field above the poles and could affect the sound.
