This is a DEMO of what's gonna be the last original song from my solo album. I used my strat going direct with an acoustic sim VST for the rhythm bits, and the same strat through my OCD, GE7 and amp for the solos. For the actual album I'll probably rent or borrow a 12- and 6- string.

I haven't finished writing the lyrics yet, but it's kinda inspired by Django Unchained, and a lot of the music from O Brother Where Art Thou - folk/bluegrass kinda stuff. Also, Jethro Tull.

Kind of an odd song for me since I usually never even think of doing acoustic stuff, but there ya go. Enjoy!

hahaha thanks man! Listening to that 'D song though...makes me want to completely redo the solos. Gotta mix them better and make them sound more killer. Especially the first one...it came out kinda garbled sounding in terms of phrasing.

Cool, I dig the intro sounds too. Totally had a visual of a chain gang with picks and shovels. Just an idea, toss in some low, lonesome humming in the background of the intro.

yeahhh!! I think I might layer the existing sounds so it sounds like a bunch of guys hammering away. I was thinking of using some existing chain gang song mixed in really low and lo-fi, as an intro but it's a challenge to find chain gang music lol.

Just multi-track what you have and offset the tracks a little. It sounds really cool man, I can't wait to here the finished product.

I absolutely love that. Sounds fantastic but for me the solos don´t work well with it.

IMHO it would be better with something softer that´s more subtle and sparse that blends more with the rhythm - if you really need them at all.

Yeah, the more I listen to it, the more I dislike the solos... I might end up doing solos acoustic as well...we'll see.

I really dig the feel, but I'd love to hear a slower version of it sync'd up with the rhythm of the pick ax at the beginning.
