I Wonder...

I never had a chance to try some SD pickup, only DiMarzio and EMG and I am very sad because of that and then I must bother you and ask... I like to play some hard & heavy sound (think Maiden but with some palm mutes of for ex. Nightwish). Sound needs to be strong in PM and on the neck pickup to be smooth and sweet... I am thinking buying something like Jackson Dinky DK-2 (H-S-S) or strat with H-S-S configuration with floyd rose (in the neck it will be some stacked hum). So what should I put in the bridge and in the neck (i don't use middle pu)?

I was going to say a Distortion/JB combo but since you want H/S.... I'd have to say Distortion/JB Jr. then. That'd be a nice metal setup. The JB Jr. isn't very smooth..... I think that's a characteristic that only true humbuckers can produce.

Here is what I would personally use to get that sound, either a Distortion or a custom in the bridge and a blue lace sensor in the neck. The blue Lace sensor has a warm smooth and sweet PAF vibe to it but, with a little something extra!
