I wrote a Song

Really laid back, surfy, sappy, maybe even poppy. But it's probably the first thing I've ever written that I'm anywhere near remotely proud of. This is just a VERY rough cut, recorded with just me and my old 76 Takamine into a 5 dollar mic. I think this would sound GREAT through my Jag's neck pickup (actually I know it does)

Tell me what you think :) Any type of feedback is appreciated. Tell me I haven't accidentally ripped someone off :laugh2:

I've got a few other songs in the works that I'll post too if people like this one. (By the way... you'll notice my voice gets better as the track progresses, but my playing a bit lazier as I fight with the stupid V shaped neck :D)

Here it is.

Nice hook, I'm liking this. You should eq your voice though, its very quiet. Also you should really release your voice, you seem restrained.

Overall this song is quality, I like it alot.

Re: I wrote a Song

****, i didnt know mike patton posted on here......hahaha :) You sound just like him, no kiddin

The song is a bit boring/drudgy (is that even a word?) for me........but ya voice is good

So do ya surf? i'm bout to go do just that now

Re: I wrote a Song

yes, it's not too exciting, but it's mellow and I know that it at least doesn't sound TOO bad... someone would like it, if they were like, needed to calm down after a crack binge or something.

EQ? What? :laugh2: I recorded this using a 5 dollar mic, and windows sound recorder :D

Yeah. My voice wasn't in the best shape. I was phlegmy. So I didn't try anything too complex.

On my best day I sound like Patton. This wasn't my best day... I listened to it, and I sound more like Layne Staley. But thanks for the compliment :D

And yes I surf, kind of.
