Ibanez Genesis series, take 2 - AR content

So, last year it was RGs, this year it's Artists. I wonder if this means there will be eventually Icemen, Destroyers, and, dare I say it, Roadstar/Proline? http://www.ibanez.co.jp/japan/gc2014/index.html

Super 58 pups, Gotoh hardware. They seem to have done away with the coil splits etc. that the top end models features in the 80s and 90s.

My recollection is that the coil split sounds were barely worth using. The Tri-Mode (Series/Split/Parallel) switching was preferable.

Obviously, SD P-Rails would be an anachronism on a re-issue guitar from before PRs were invented but they would sound fabulous.

The first series that I remember came with a more ornate tailpiece and no mode switching. There was also a semi-hollow versions with F holes.

I suspect that the coil split was a reaction to the push-push switching on the Yamaha SG1000/2000/3000 and that Tri-Mode switching was meant to be a step beyond. (The push-push pots could, obviously, only offer two options.)

Those are seriously amazing! I would love to get my hands on one of those! I know a few guys who love their Artist guitars.
