Ibanez: Good acoustic guitars?

I'm in need of an acoustic guitar now, I think. Ibanez hasn't failed me with their electrics, so I've been checking out their acoustics. Looks to be pretty promising. I'm not looking to spend big bucks, just intermediate/higher-end beginner acoustics. I won't be using to perform or anything, just to mess around on.

I might want those cool looking Ibanez thinline classical acoustic guitars. Anybody have experience with them, or any Ibanez acoustic?

Re: Ibanez: Good acoustic guitars?

I think for messing around they're great. One of the first acoustics I learned on was an Ibanez and it played and sounded solid. If you like semi bright acoustics, you'll enjoy it, although many models I've tried doesn't seem to have the depth that it's competing companies like Alvarez have.

I haven't tried any new models so their new lineup may be killer. The prices seem right so let your ears and your hands decide ;)

Re: Ibanez: Good acoustic guitars?

personally i dont like them at all. IMO i think if your looking for good tone from an acoustic.. you need to be generous with your funds

Re: Ibanez: Good acoustic guitars?

I would look at Yamaha. They are priced about the same, and I think they sound and play better. In this price range you are not getting much! If you can spend a little more look at Takamine. Decent for the money. If you want a real work horse and a guitar that sounds great look at Guild. They cost a lot more, but you get what you pay for!

Thanks, guys. Maybe I'll go used and find a more higher-end brand.

Re: Ibanez: Good acoustic guitars?

the AEF series and the higher Artwoods are amazing.
they're so sweet, IMHO
i have an AEF30, and it's beautiful. acoustic it sounds pretty good (it's not full depth), but when you plug it in...holy mother of god. it's like buttah.

I have to agree, on impulse I bought an Ibanez AEF18 with the translucent purple. After playing it for a while, I sold all my other acoustics. YES, it is that good. And yes I've played Martins and Taylors too and they are great but way too much money for me anyway. To be honest with you, there is not a thing to bitch about on this guitar, the electric pickup sounds great, acoustic it sounds great, the neck is perfect for me, the frets are nice, overall it's a real nice sounding, easy playing geeetar.
