Re: Ibanez guys - fancy an RG with a more traditional neck shape?
I thought I liked thin necks until a few recent experiences. I bought my first PRS with a wide thin neck instead of the wide fat, and it sounds very thin/anemic compared to the same guitar with a fatter neck. I also bought an Ibanez RG655 because I have always wanted a nicer Ibanez (already had an RG450). I have never experienced hand cramps like I did with that super thin neck. I LOVE the feel of it, and everyone I play with wanted to steal it, but I could not find a hand position that did not cause cramping, especially down toward the headstock on the neck. I just sold it. I would give a lot to have the same guitar with a thicker neck like the RG450s.
