Ibanez now roasting..

Re: Ibanez now roasting..

We have determined that the Hyperions are just a slightly different Pegasus/Sentient set, correct? Or was that just a theory?

Also, Martin Miller's signature looks exactly like my mom's.

Re: Ibanez now roasting..

Looks like a nice, straightforward player. Simple, attractive looks and top-end hardware throughout. I also love the use of a 2-point trem.

Cool that "roasted" woods are going mainstream, as well. I don't necessarily dig the look of roasted necks, but the concept is cool. I just got my first roasted alder Warmoth body to try...

Re: Ibanez now roasting..

Mick Thomson's sig was the MTM1. Mike Mushok's sig was the MMM1. Matt Bachand's was the MBM1. LOL

I was thinking the same thing, Ibanez's production models are starting to look more and more like my partscasters.

Re: Ibanez now roasting..

Ibanez answer to Suhr, eh? I wonder if Hyperions were actually renamed Pegasus-Sentient as OEM pickups, just like Solars for C5-'59.

Re: Ibanez now roasting..

$2500 + TAX, NO THANKS.

Looks more like a Fender meets Charvel than anything Ibanez.

I predict they give it a Monkey Grip when they dont sell.

Re: Ibanez now roasting..

The AZ series has roasted maple necks too, including the "Premier" (higher end Korean) models.

I haven't played a roasted maple neck yet though so I have no idea what the hype is about.

Roasted maple necks are more stable than non-roasted. They also have a bit of a more raw feel to them, provided the company doesn't drown them in gloss.

Re: Ibanez now roasting..

That is a slick looking axe. I like the concept of roasted maple as well, but haven't tried one. I'm not a huge fan of having the fretboard roasted maple as well. I'd personally prefer a rosewood board attached after roasting... but that's just me. It is a great looking guitar. Pricy, but well built guitars are never really cheap.

Re: Ibanez now roasting..

Cool axe. Good combination of features, and glow in the dark side dots are a nice touch.

I agree with elelpe, it really does look like a Suhr copy. Not familiar with Martin Miller at all; did he previously play Suhrs? That would explain a lot. Of course this sig model costs as much as a Suhr so for my money I'd go for the real thing. Still, for me this looks way preferable to a typical flashy shredstick.

I share some idle curiosity about those pickups.

Re: Ibanez now roasting..

Hmm I wanna have a medium rare.....
Crap...SS frettos...lol
That headstock is a crime!!
The rest looks cool!
(P'S did some of you forget that Ibanez did superstrats, long before any company called Suhr even existed?)

Re: Ibanez now roasting..

Ibanez hasn't put out anything that really made me look in years, but the RG652 is pretty tempting.

MIJ Prestige

Re: Ibanez now roasting..

I have the hss prestige AZ. It’s awesome. I felt the bridge was a bit underpowered but an a8 helped a lot. The single couls are great. The neck is the best I’ve ever felt!

That would be the Premium series that is made in Indonesia. I'm not sure if Ibanez makes anything in Korea now.

I agree! Except that I love the look of roasted necks (never cared for the yellowish white Maple necks usually have.) Cool to see this gaining ground.

I have done two Warmoth builds that have both Roasted necks and bodies–really dig them! Hope you like your roasted Warmoth as much as I like mine!
