I couldn't jusify getting the Ibanez, as I'm not a shredder. The Schecter methinks. MMMMMM

I would go with Schecter, Awesome guitars, especially for the price. And very mod friendly. Hell, Fender sued them at one stage because they made guitars so good and so cheap

Just got in and checked your responses...thanks for all your opinions!!

Right now I'm leaning toward the Schecter....all the points you guys brought up are valid...and I already have an Ibanez sooo...

and yes GuitarGuru, it IS partially your fault!! Your thread got me thinking of that nice WHITE Schecter just a short drive away.....by the way if you're still looking for a good picture of a white one, I'll snap a picture of mine for ya.... :laugh2:

Its just not fair! lol...ill get mine soon!!!! And yes PLEASE snap some awesome pictures please...full body, headstock, neck, neckjoint, pickups!!!!!!!!, tone-pros, and knobs!! that would be ****ing awesome thank you!!! :32:

i say that if you can't make up your mind, you should do one of three things.

1. wait
2. play them both more. one should emerge as a favorite.
3. give up on guitar. imo, the whole point of playing is self expression and here you are asking other people what instrument is best for you to do that with. if you can't decide on your own, you shouldn't even play. in the end, you should be the one who decides, not a bunch of internet geeks (like me) who don't know you or the music you play. grow some balls.

I'd go with a Schecter. They're pretty nice guitars from what I've played. Ibanez I don't really like though so I'm biased.

Well, having had an RG550 at one time and also extensively playing my buddy's C1 EA, I'd have to go with the Schecter. It just seemed to me that there was a bit more attention to detail with the Schecter, not that the Ibanez was bad. I loved my RG550, but if I had to pick only one, I would go with the Schecter.

If you want to compare the C1 to an Ibanez, Look at the SZ series. Almost identicle guitars. Of the two I would have to say Ibanez, of course I am biased I own one. Having said that musicians friend had the shecter on sale for $499. with a JB/59 combo, grover tuners and a tone pro bridge. Can't deny thats a lot of bang for the buck.

Schecters are definetely classier guitars...the real difference is how the neck/body is. Schecter uses the angled approach like gibsons and Ibanezes use a straight one like Jacksons...so dunno if that makes a difference but I think straights are faster while angled encourages bad posture...
