So i downloaded the HSH 1 volume, 1 tone, 5 way switch diagram but my switch is wired differently to the stock INF p/u's. Also the switch has 8 wire lugs in a row not 4/4 as well as the the wire colors being red/black/white not black/white.. ANY tips as to how i should wire this up? THANKS SO MUCH!

Welcome to the forum.

First, on exactly which model Ibanez RG guitar are you working? A photograph of the selector switch would help. Failing that, is there any writing or a sticker on the selector switch? Knowing which switch will help to choose the correct schematic diagram.

In general on an RG, for each Pickup:

- The Black (ie: "hot") wire of the Duncan should go where the Red (ie: "hot") wire is from the INF.
- The White and Red wires of the Duncan get soldered together and connected to where the White wire is from the INF.
- The Green and Bare wires from the Duncan get soldered together and go to Ground.

Helpful hint: On that inline-8 switch, the bridge position "hot" wire should be the very first red wire you see soldered to the switch toward the outside, followed by the middle "hot" wire on the second lug and then the neck "hot" on the third.

As said above, a picture would be good to confirm...

^^
Though with a 5 way, you could wire it to split to one of the coils of either the neck or bridge in positions 2 and 4 in which case you would be doing more than just keeping the red and white together. Same if you wired it to do a PRS type switching with positions 2 and 4 giving inside coils in series, outside coils in parallel, or something like that.

Re: Ibanez RG w/ 5 Way switch, installing Dimebag Signature p/u set. WIRING confusion

I was able to get some help from SD tech help, seems to be working good but Im not sure if its wired correctly The 1st pic is pre install, original wiring b4 removing oem pickups. 2nd shot is how I have it installed now. I also included the wiring diagram SD told me to use. My switch has all lugs in a row, the SD diagram has 4 on either side. SD said the 1st four lugs correspond w/ the lugs on the left side & the other 4 w/ lugs on the right. I have the red & white wires soldered & taped off like diagram..BTW the 6th & 8th lugs are taped off & not being used now..THANK YOU for the help!!
