Ibanez RG!

My friend owns and Ibanez RG170 R and the kid took it apart. and then put it back together, right, but he did this to clean and restring it, well he has 0 knowledge about guitars and he took his springs off cuz he says thats how you get the strings in, i dont kno if thats true, but not hes got strings, on but the bridge is messed, and he cant use the whammy(its Stiff), any of you guys kno whats wrong, im guessing its the springs or he prolly did sumthin like put it back together wrong... You gots got any idea of whats wrong, i would tell you more but i dont got his guitar here


and in my own opinion taking you guitar apart is stupid as it is unless you kno what your doing,

yer taking all strings off at once with a floyd rose is generally not a good idea, and will require some set up work to get it all sexy again. Hopefully someone here can advise (as i want to take all the strings off to clean my RG also, and want to know about setting up after) But dont worry, its a solveable problem, just a pain in the butt.

Yes, but it is still a trem with springs in the back, so he'll have to set it up again and balance the springs with the string tension.

so now i am sure i kno the problem with balancing of the springs and strings tension, So guys how do i do this, hes willing to pay me to fix it, so i wanna make sure i kno what im doing, so can you guys tell me how its done?

I'd tell him to take it to a tech or something. You really gotta know your poo to get things set up right. IMO anyway.

he just wants to see if i can fix it first cuz why drive out to the city, if sum1 could do it here... so ill try it,
but does anybody kno how its done like what do i do to set it up? cuz this cud be a useful skill to have just incase i ever gotta do this with one of my guitars
