Ibanez RG350dx pickup recommendations

I have the opportunity to get a white RG350dx for 250 dollars in mint condition. I want it cos I can use it as a nice shredder guitar that I won't feel terrible about taking to jams and getting it dinged. But, what pickups would you guys reccomend, I can't thing of any HSH combos for the life of me. Or can I just get a set of DD's and then wire a strat pickup in between them? I'm looking for duncans specifically but, all suggestions welcome. Strictly for playing high gain shred metal such as children of bodom stuff.

Here's what they look like:

You'll be able to hit bodom tones easily with a set of dd's quite handily. If you're not too sure on single coil pu's, just keep the stock one to begin with and use it as a starting point in tone if you feel the need to replace it.

Plenty of guys around here will help you out in the single coil department.

Re: Ibanez RG350dx pickup recommendations

I'd slap in those DDs you mentioned. Be warned though: The single coil found stock on those Ibanez have an INCREDIBLE amount of string pull, in case you haven't noticed. So if you won't be using it, set it as low as it can go. Or even better, remove it and replace the 5-way blade for a 3-way blade. Just my opinion, of course. :27:

For metal, why worry about anything but the bridge pickup?

I used to have a 450dx which is basically the same guitar.I put a Custom in the bridge sounded killer for metal.Thinks thats the biggest difference i ever heard from changing pickups.

I had the 350, put a Custom in the bridge, and a Lil '59 bridge in the middle (kept the stock neck) and that thing was chunky as hell.

Those guitars sound horrible, no offence, I've owned one.

Get an EMG-81 in the bridge and an 85 in the neck. SA in the middle.

You'll have to go active to get much out of that guitar.

mine has DMZ Steve's Special and Air Norton. But I bet DDs are going to be awesome in that guitar as well. My epi rebel (basswood) has duncan performers (duncan-designed) and it's awesome. DDs are the real deal, so it's gonna sound even better.
