Mine are actually "New 7's", 7 string pickups, they were stock from another RG (got them from this forum), I emailed Dimarzio and they told me they are basicall a Super Dist & Super II, haven't had much time to get to use them yet, I busted my switch and haven't re-wired yet! :yell: so I can't tell you if they are good or bad or whatever...

I had about the same requirements for my replacement pickups a while ago. I decided not to the duncan route cause they seemed to lack mids. I bought a Tone Zone for bridge and PAF Pro for the neck. Into my Gibson SG. In my guitar, they are as perfect as pickups can be. (= not that perfect, you never know when you want to try something new!)
I can try to record you some clips, if you like.

Some death riffs and one from hypocrisy. I tried to record them WITH FULL DISTORTION. All with TZ. A bit sloppy, but you'll get the hang of it. Couldn't bother recording again!

Can you do another clip with the tone zone laying that Opening Riff from Mayhem-Freezing Moon? And then put some random leads with the TZ, and then some leads with the Paf pro. i want to hear it in the NECK.

Does anybody else have problems with not hearing highs in the clip?
There were riffs from Symbolic, Open Casket, Zombie Ritual and Crystal Mountain. The Hypocritical one was Osculum Obscenum.

Sweet....I have been learning some stuff off of Human and Spiritual. Suicide Machine and Living Monstrosity(Bad Ass Sweep in that song by Murphy). What classics! I remember 1990 when I first discovered how bad ass they were. At the time I was only listening to Sepultura, Slayer, mostly Thrash.
WFD- Dude I would go Dimarzio BREED. If I had an option I would go X2N because big Chuck Chuldiner used one. RIP
Oh yeah I'll post some clips of my 85/81 soon. I recorded to my YEPP mp3 player but it sucked the tone DRY!! Im thinking just going OUT of Headphone jack amp Straight into my soundcard......Anybody know if that sucks also?
