I recently bought an RG7321 just because I wanted to try a 7 string. The pickup selector switch wasn't working the way the Ibanez diagram says it should, and I figured someone had messed with the wiring. I have checked the wiring a hundred times and have resoldered every connection. I am 99.999999999 percent positive it is wired the way all the Ibanez (and Duncan) diagrams say it should be. I should be getting:
Position 1 = Neck series
Position 2 = Neck Parallel
Position 3 = Both Humbuckers
Position 4 = Inner coils from each
Position 5 = Bridge series
Instead, I am getting this:
Position 1 = Neck parallel
Position 2 = Neck series
Position 3 = Neck inner / Bridge outer
Position 4 = Bridge series
Position 5 = Bridge outer coil only
I am not new to pickup swapping, but for the life of me I can't figure this one out. I have tried a half dozen what-ifs and nothing has solved the problem. Someone point out something obvious I am overlooking. My only guess is that someone may have replaced the switch with one that works differently??? (Looks original though)
