Ibanez RGA 32 Mol modified and tuning settings

So i took this guitar for about couple weeks ago to local service man, to install new active pickups: EMG 81/60 with all the EMG electronics, and to tune down to C# Standard, with the string of my choice: 11-52 Ernie Ball.. whatever it was all well done when i get it from there, but when i started playing it at home, i realised that these strings were not a good choice for the C# Standard. whatever i didn't expected that.. they were a bit too loose in that tuning. so today i tune guitar up to D Standard, and now the strings are more tight and more playable. but i just tune it up that half step without any settings. are there any problems with neck i should expect, or it is just ok, because the strings were to loose to even play: i wasn't be able do the gallops and all that heavy stuff at low strings. is it possible to damage the neck of a guitar, just because it is now tuned half step up without any setting ? anyway, now the guitar is much more playable, comfortable to play in D Standard ! and i play with Jazz III picks, somehow i have used to them.

You won't do any damage, but you should check the truss rod and intonation once the guitar settles into the new string tension.

Relax, there is no way a good neck would be damaged from such a minor change in tension. It can just be a little misadjusted, that's all.

I use 12-60 for Drop C on a hardtail RG (321), so I'd suggest trying those out.

Re: Ibanez RGA 32 Mol modified and tuning settings

Are you using a custom gauge, or did you mean 11-54? EB doesn't make a 11-52 set. You could try EB Cobalt Beefy Slinky (11-54), or D'Addario EXL117 (11-56).

Re: Ibanez RGA 32 Mol modified and tuning settings

Well, even 11-52 isn't enough for D Standard.. i couldn't go down to drop c, the low e string is really loose in c. i should go 11-54 or 12-56 on this guitar i think. the guitar itself... i think i am gonna have some time to really used to it. i have an SG in Standard E and the strings are just right: i use 10-48.

And, damn, i am starting to really dislike those active emg's.... maybe i'll sell this guitar, it is annoying for me from the beggining a bought it. :scratchch it just don't impresses me at all right now...
