Ibanez Tone Lock Series

Other than the fact they came after the plastic housed Sound Tank series that damaged Ibanez's reputation, I never understood these pedals having such a bad reputation.

Sure, I didn't like the fuzz pedal; but the TS-7 sounds like a TS, the distortion was a decent sound and this delay I just picked up rivals most Boss digital delays I've tried in every way except it lacks the ability to record loops and do a reverse sound.

Where else can one get 2600ms of delay time for $50CAN? Hate on them all you want... The low resale value makes it so those of us who like these pedals are getting them at decent prices.

The Tube Screamer is a real Tube Screamer. The Delay is a decent digital delay, the Chorus/Flanger is a serviceable stereo Chorus and Flanger that can go off the rails wild, and the Lo-Fi is a cool special effect pedal.

I loved the tone-lock feature, didn't really like the enclosure, the sound was certainly good

I thought my old smash box was really one of the best "over-the-top" distortions on the cheap.

The Smash Box is a great distortion. I don't know what pedal I have that would do that sound; maybe I just need to pick up another one.

I wish these came up for sale in my area more often. I definitely want to grab me a smash box. I have enough TS's and Nissan that I have the fuzz I wanted when I was checking out the Tone Lok fuzz, I'd revisit it again if I got the chance.

I picked up a TS-7 at a yard sale for $20. It was a steal. Love the normal/hot switch.

i literally just got the ds7 today and i gotta say its amazing only issue i have is prob due to age (touchy on off) and some buzzing (could be amp, guitar, cables, or pedals) but i love the sound idk what its based off of but its great.

Re: Ibanez Tone Lock Series

I have a TS-7, and I love the hot switch. The whole pedal sounds great.
They have a bad rep because of the switch, not the sound. After about 10 years, it starts taking 4 presses to engage it...and it is a tiny, PC mounted switch that I am surprised lasted that long. There are people who have replaced it with a proper switch, though, which is an upgrade I need to do to mine.

Re: Ibanez Tone Lock Series

The DE-7 was my first pedal back in the day! Still have it on one of my boards. Fantastic little unit.
