Gr8Scott said:I'd buy a cheap run of the mill TS-7 or TS-10 and send it to StratDeluxer for a mod. He's the man when it comes to modding that particular pedal and you'll have a superior sounding pedal at less than 1/2 the cost.

Here's one TS-10 on ebay that you can snag for a song. Some other dude has one on there for a $125 BIN, which is insane...

This is a TS-7 for a song...
I think the TS-7 is supposed to be very close to the original TS-808. A couple of minor changes and you're there dude. Let John Spina (stratdeluxer) get ahold of it and you're in tone heaven.
the_Chris said:Good idea about the modding, but I can't recommend the TS-10. Those things are notorious for having switching problems. I had one for a while, so I'm all too familiar with the switching issues. I'm not sure how the TS-7 is, but I wouldn't be surprised if Ibanez has improved the footswitch on it.
Stratcat said:I just listened to the sound clips of the TS808 and the TS 9. To my ears the TS808 sounds a lot better, and is being called the Holy Grail from some reviews I have read. I also like the footswitch on the TS808 better.

Stratcat said:Was'nt the TS808 Tubesceamer originally the "Real Deal"/Holy Grail? and most of the others models trying to clone that tone?
STRATDELUXER97 said:Yes but one man's holy grail is another man's junk tone....Trust your ears buddy and don't buy into the hype too much! I Like the Voodoo Labs pedal hands down better than any of the entire TS series!
And yes there are tons of "clone" Tube Screamers you can buy today!

:laugh2: Aint that the truth.:smokin:
I think I will try the TS808 first, and take it from there.
