Ibanez TS9 or TS9DX :

Re: Ibanez TS9 or TS9DX :

There is obviously more "stuff" in a DX. So to not think it wouldn't affect the sound at all is silly.

However, is it enough that I can practically notice? Or that a little extra tweak of the knob can't compensate for - no, IMO.

I have and love my TS-9. But all things considered, if I had my life to live over, I'd get the DX. 3 modded TS-9's and an original all in one handy dandy package. And if that doesn't suit you - Keely mods, Allums, etc...

Re: Ibanez TS9 or TS9DX :

When I had my DX, I just used the TS9 mode. I found the extra gain modes to be mostly useless.

My first DX was one that Analogman had gone through and redid the modes and that pedal just kills best TS9 ive ever had and the modes are great though I really only use 2

BUT then I came to beijing and had no gear I saw at DX in a store and nabbed it up... Stock the extra modes suck. But for what its worth ive A/B'd it with a reissue TS9 and a Maxon OD9 and in TS9 mode I cant tell the difference between the DX and the others.
