Theres nothing much to track though, except old 5xx's having maple as an option, 7strings startiing in 7, hardtails ending in 1, and Prestige codes adding 1000 points to denote prestigeyness... Most of the rest of it is straightup seniority, bigger # = better stuff.

The RGD321 (mine seen above) is a discontinued model, it's superseded by the RGD421. The main difference here is that the 421 has no tone control & the pickup selector is a 3-way toggle as opposed to the 321's slider-type pickup selector. The 321 had a tone control.

The non-Japanese Ibanez of today are alright guitars, if you are bent on buying one, you'd do well to avoid the GIO models. Also, the Premium models are great for the money, if you'd handle one before you'd know the QC is up there with the Prestige selections.

Re: Ibanez users, please enlighten me.

Dude, there are plenty of good quality non-MIJ Ibanez these days, the 3xx up come with excellent bridges now. Like with any guitars, play first if you can to make sure you get a good one you like the sound of.

Yep. Both my Ibanez guitars (RG320 & VBT700) were both made in Indonesia. Both are good.

Re: Ibanez users, please enlighten me.

With minimal effort the Indo builts are really pretty damn good. I love my RG350M and the S520EX I almost bought was excellent, these are both zps3 guitars, and I know the Edge III sucks on the older stuff. I guess my Xiphos is Indo too now that I think about it.

They're fine man, don't worry about it. Swap out the electronics and pickups and you're golden.

I was skeptical when it comes to Chinese/Indo Ibanez instruments but seeing & playing one in person changes everything. Above: AF105 (Chinese)/ SIR70F (Indonesian).
