Looks dumb...sounds great.

Lots to tweak on the unit and there's alot of little optioins that can make a big difference. I'm very happy with mine; I've had it since about November.

How wld u compare it with Jimi Wah or the Morley cry baby?
I am crazy abt Wahs. I had a beautiful Wah-fuzz pedal. That got stolen.

I haven't owned a Morley but I have owned a CryBaby.

The Ibanez is just a much different pedal than the CryBbay simply because you have so much that you can change with respect to how it functions.

It almost seems like Ibanez went and put all the potential options for what Wah pedals have on a big board and the told their engineers to design a pedal that incorporated them all.

With that said the WD7 is much more flexible than my standard CryBbay. I can tweak ot to where the Wah-sound kind of breaks on the travel of the pedal. I can run it without spring tension or with, as well as adjust the spring tension.

There's just so much on the pedal that it does take awhile to get the hang of it. But once you learn how to use and and dial it in it's an amazing little pedal.

Re: Ibanez WEEPING DEMON WAH (WD7)

I hate the Weeping Demon. I frankly think it sounds horrible. Very raspy tone. And the wah just feels weird beneath my foot. But that's just me. On the one I tried in the store (brand new, mind), the auto-on mode for the footswitch that was supposed to work like the Morley switchless system didn't work. Like it'd come on then promptly turn off.

Make sure to try it out before you buy it!!!! You might like it, but I sure as hell didn't. Versatile in the amount of sounds you can get, but IMO very bad.

The mode of switching can be set so that if there is a lack of movement on the unit the function will turn off. I believe it can be turned off or turned to "always on" when not in the all-the-way-back position.

You can also use it like a regular Wah pedal and push it forward to switch it on and off.

This pedal is one of those units that I'm scratching my head as to why the world hasn't gone wholly ape over it.

It looks so ridiculous that I've never bothered to try it, but now I just might thanks to the kudos it's getting in this thread.

Yes, I know how to work the switch, and I do realize that it can be set to function like a normal wah. I'm just saying that I'm not sure how good the quality control is. Since on the auto-wah function (where it's supposed to be like a Morley) it didn't work on one of the units I tried. That was for a brand new pedal. I'm not saying that it never works, or I never got it to work, just not in that mode.

I'm also not saying that it's a completely worthless pedal. It just sounds different than many wahs. To me this was in the form of a sort of "rasp" beneath the wah sound. I dunno it's hard to explain. It just sounded really bad to my ears. Tone is completely subjective. You wonder why more people haven't picked up on a pedal while I wonder why people would ever use it. But neither of us are wrong; it's just our opinion. That's why I told him to try it out first. I got the impression that he was just going to order it online based on the kudos from this thread. I just discourage that, as tone is so subjective that you can't pick a wah based soley on the feedback it receives from other users.

Jocelyn, no I'm not in India, I'm in the US, but I'm from India (well, my parents are...they moved here a couple years before I was born). I've been there a few times though, and most of my relatives live there. Where in India are you?
Edit: Oops, didn't see that you're in Mumbai. :smack: I have some relatives there, but most are in Tamil Nadu.
