I usually don't like ash grain all that much.

I really like it! Pretty unique and at a great price. You think the price is low because of the blemish on the lower left hand side of the back?

This is perfect for a sunburst with a dark edge, it would hide the mark but still show the beautiful grain.

Dude, if you want a tele body, get it. who cares about the weight. If you don't get it, I might have to but I really don't want to, as I just finished a swamp ash tele body from Guitar Mill. It's the last thing I need, but IMO that this is sick!!!

True oil it, throw your average Strat neck on it, and youve got a jewel for a bargain price. Yea, Strat necks work on Teles(but not the other way around).

I love swamp ash grain, this is a very cool example of it. That piece seems heavier than I would have expected though, as usually the bodies I've seen with that much figure tend to be very lightweight.

DO IT!, I'm almost halfway tempted.....although I think i'd do a blue color of somekind.

That spot on the back probably is why it's in the Webspecials section. I don't pay much attention to the back of the guitar anyhow though.

I can't really start another Tele project, but I figured someone here my want it.

My understanding is that one piece bodies are normally a bit heavier because of the part of the tree they need to be cut from.

If the body had been around 4Lbs, I would have kept my yap shut, and called Tommy first thing in the morning!

Someone needs to snag that, I really want it but am literally taking a trip up to my cousins(Just Wendell) house tomorrow so he can help me put my parts tele together.

Ahh, but then again, i could always just save it for sometime down the line.

This could be.... your next Tele project!

I'd feel good if someone here got it.

Re: I'd buy it if it didn't weigh so much!

I noticed this one yesterday too.

weight varies a lot on swamp ash, whether the body is 1, 2, or 3 piece. Of course, a light weight, one piece body is more rare, but they had one a couple of days ago.
that blem is no big deal, IMO -- it would hardly be noticed on a blonde or burst finish
his price for that is right in line with the rest of his prices

folks have differing opinions regarding weight. I prefer lighter weight bodies for comfort, and I think they probably are more resonant in most cases, though not always. I think some ash when it's heavy has a lot of sustain, but can get a bit bright too, but there are those who like heavier ash.
Different strokes.

5 pounds 4 ounces?? ..........Bright and pingy???

Re: I'd buy it if it didn't weigh so much!

This is another 1-piece swamp ash body they have that's kind of cool, and not as heavy.
Not as dramatic.

Weight : 4lb 8oz
