IDEA***How about a Seymour Duncan sheilding kit-included with any of their regular single coils (as a kit w/pickup options) --this way the pups already come with copper sheilding around the coil's themselfs -- and the covers would have had their insides sprayed with lead paint and grounded to the copper. ---Because thats the hardest part-- doing the sheilding to the covers and coils----so let production handle that part.

"Noise reduced pickup +sheilding kits" for the VINTAGE PURIST AT HEART-- For guys like me and so many others that brought every ding-dang thing titled noise free..etc.. under the sun and keep going back to noisey Single coils..

and this way customers have an option of using a stacked unit and adding and subtracting timbres of tone IE- adding mid's / adding bass and taking away treble all at the same time..common sacrifices of HUM Reduction units..

OR-- instead for the pure at heart, we just add a little to the mids from sheilding.. and sheild the guitar with the copper tape & sheilding assy. kit included.. for Strats and Teles. :beerchug: :beerchug:

Re: IDEA for marketing Dept.

I would like to see Duncan make full wiring harnesses for their pickups. Like, when you upgrade to a Distortion or JB or whatever, having the correct value pots and caps to install too.

Re: IDEA for marketing Dept.

Nice idea, but I prefer to shield the guitar and star ground it. No more noise.

Re: IDEA for marketing Dept.

yea-- but your pups still aint sheilded at all-- my strat is sheilded and star-Grounded too. www.guitarnuts.com...

OK lets skip the copper kit--- how about Sheilded pups as an option... for and upcharge you can get the regular single coils with copper around the coil + cover sheilding--- and an online how to sheild your guitar video? :smokin:

Yup, guitarnuts. Good stuff.

Now, I like the idea of the option being available. That would be worthwhile.

Re: IDEA for marketing Dept.

Iv'e seen the copper insulation (Sheildeing) to my surprize-- was -- already around my Trem-sized Pearly gates Plus humbucker..so It something there quite used to in production.. the real trick would be sheilding paint inside the plastic covers.
