Re: Ideas for my first tube amp.
lemme try again, Diego, i like yr gear. except the cube. for Metal distortion there companies that make distortion pedals w real 12ax7 preamp tubes, like: Seymour Duncan, Radial Tonebone, Blackstar, etc for $200 or so. i got the Ibanez Tubeking 999t, only i took out the tube it came with and put in a JJ brand. cost about $135. This would give you control over your Metal texture. Plus two things: You can use yr BluesDriver to drive the pedal into more crisp chunk; and you can set outgoing volume on the pedal higher and higher to drive the power tubes in the clean setting of a tube amp- any tube amp, Fenders, Peavey Classic 30, or whatever. I used to see this guy get pro, killer metal tones out of tiny Fender tweeds by cranking the power tubes. thats my advice, its cheap, gives you lots of control, one click and clean. you just need a head w at least 2 power tubes.
