Hello i bought a gibson les paul jumior special and it had these humbuckers in it, i think they are seymour duncans, but i cant tell what model, the front of the neck pup is black and cream like zebra style and the bridge pup is just cream, both have the same signature, they sound amazing i just dont know what they re, i went to the seymour duncan pickup identifier but i cant find any matching numbers. The guitar is a 2007 nashville factory model, i dont think they are the stock pickups, ok thanks for any help :)

Identify Humbuckers

Seymour started out rewinding pickups before he started making his own. So if they are rewinds, they would be someone else's (Gibson, or other aftermarket) that Seymour repaired. The "bridge" and "neck" stickers are throwing me off as I've never seen those on any Duncans before.

For sure.

Those sticker are relatively newer, when compared to the old days. My $ is on them being Ants from when Seymour was winding them. There are some pics out there of the base plates and mags being signed by MJ as well.

Re: Identify Humbuckers

this is great info, yes everything is leaning towards them being antiquities of some kind, i will test each with a multimeter as well and the readings might narrow it down somewhat as well, thanks guys much appreciated help :D

Re: Identify Humbuckers

The serial on the sticker is consistent with the Antiquity series.

Looks like one rare occasion when it's Seymour the one to wind a humbucker (that's MJ's realm}.

HTH,

Hey thanks, so it could be an early antiquity that has been rewound...maybe?, whatever they are they sound nice , thanks guys :)

Re: Identify Humbuckers

Yes those are a pair of antiquity humbuckers. No mystery about it. Looks like someone took the covers off

Re: Identify Humbuckers

ah cool, i was hoping to do the jimmy page wiring on it so ill have to check how many wires each pickup has, i heard i cant do the jp wiring if i only have two wires.

Re: Identify Humbuckers

You need 4cond wiring to do the jp but a decent tech can change the vintage braid to 4cond pretty easily
