If going floorboard direct - what Multifx?

mark knopfler has switched to kemper. so if a tone guru/snob/purist like him can do it, anyone probably can for a live situation. granted, he took six months with his tech dialing in everything in a thorough and, im sure, exhausting manner, but he go to where he was satisfied enough to tour with it. most of us dont have that luxury.

I'm generally of the mind that even a cheap processor these days has more juice than an 80's rack of doom.

I personally use a Headrush, and the interface I like more than most of the others over experienced with. It's intuitive and the touch screen is a great way to set things up.

Thing is, the sample rate and bit depth of today's digital pedals is much better than what was available then (other than analog rack gear). But, today they try to use all that processing power to add tons of effects, rather than do a few things really, really well. Cheap digital effects still sound cheap now, though the scale has changed.
