Discuss it with the tech, see what he says about it.
I usually try to be specific with techs when I take something to to be fixed/adjusted, that way when I get the item back I can address the issues and see if they've been handled. Sometimes a tech will notice something that I hadn't and hopefully they'll get in touch with me about any additional charges for repairs/parts beforehand.
Every tech will be slightly different in the approaches taken to include a service along with a standard setup. One guy I know doesn't mind doing a little extra here and there and, in my opinion, loses some money that way. Others I've seen are so literal that if you took them your guitar and said "Change the strings and clean it up" then what you would get back is your guitar with new strings (not tuned or intonated) that had been wiped with a rag.
