you just described a budda. like sixstringcustoms said the superdrive 30 or 45 would be perfect for you. I have a superdrive 80 halfstack and it is extreme overkill (in a good way though). these amps have a real nice thick + clean distortion sound that most other high $ amps cant touch. cleans are best described as a mix between a hiwatt and a vox. they make some of the best speaker cabs too.


also their customer service is untouchable. go ahead and send them an email. the last time i did, i received a reply the next day from the design engineer (jeff) and the president (scott).

Right on! Except it's Six String Sales! No problem, I can see where the mixup comes from! Agree totally. Budda has awesome customer service. Most ampst can't get near the clean and mild breakup tones of a Budda amp.

There's so many amps out there it's mind boggling at times. There's three that come to my mind that I'd want right off the top.

This is tough, cause Ive got probably 5 or 6 amps on my want list.
I'd pickup up something wild and crazy. Something highgain and exotic, since Ive got many amps , but nothing highgain.
I'm gonna say I'd grab a Framus.

I'd go for a 65 cab with a blue and a G12H30, which sounds killer no matter wat amp you put through it. If you were to go 1x12, either the gold (if you lean vox) or the G12H (if you lean fender/marshall).

Depending on how much I like it when I hear the first ones coming out.....the Bogner Alchemist. It's Bogner's new import line w/6L6's and FX. I might have to get one of those heads. It'll be considerably less than Bogners made in North Hollywood.

I noticed that Bogner's website is now divided between import and US made.

If they can get that 'bogner feel' in an import amp, it'll be a huge success. Ironically, we can't stock it, as it's distributed by Line6, who are exclusive to a big local chain. So we'll have 'bogner custom shop' and they'll have 'bogner'.

I'll be paying close attention to that amp, as I'm partial to 6l6s.

oddly atm im more GASing for a tiny terror than anything else becasue i need/want a small amp to mess around with at home since i dont have my JTM here anymore.. plus the TT just sounds freakin awsome for a little box

...and the store I use carries every model of Bogner, most VHTs, Top Hats, and so on. I love those amps, too....


Don't even trip that it uses 6L6s. You'd never be able to tell soundwise. More EL34-ishly complex sounds, I think.

favorite thing about it? Instant, smooth switching from channel to channel, even if the volumes are set one quiet, one loud. Seamless. Probably due in part to the preamp tubes being dedicated to a given channel? - there's 8 of em. It's not a multi-channel amp, it's a 3 in one amp, with built-in amp switcher. The cab has a really cool low end. High gain sounds are unique.

Fender jangle? check.
SRV tone on clean with the gain cranked? check.
old school Marshall-ishness? check.
controlled feedback? check.
warm lead channel? check.
body bags? check.

check, check, check, forever. Try it.

Yep these ROCK!! WORD the new Fender 5150III is the ONLY thing I have ever played that will give my Zinky one off 100 watt Prosonic a run. These amps are absolute KILLERS and I will OWN one of these!!
