If I had $4500 to spare, I'd pull the trigger right now.

I'd like to commission Scott to build me something similar. When things settle down for him perhaps we'll talk. I'm not exactly sure how these differ from a Marshall circuit, but I LOVE the soundclips.

The only problem is that 90% of people who raved about them to me have NEVER HEARD ONE IN PERSON! That scares me.

Amp Shop in Sherman Oaks has a couple, but I don't think they would even bother with letting me try one, I have nowhere near the funds for one.

You're certainly right Olin, I haven't heard it in person. I am only judging by soundclips that I've heard, and the research I've done. There is a dealer in my state, but I doubt they'd let me just walk in and play it.

It is a Komet that Cris Mirabella made a custom cabinet for. Its flame maple with Purple heat accents. Not only does it sound amazing..... it looks amazing!

Dave, that looks SWEET!! I love the way Cris adds a Lil' taste of Art Deco in all his work. I'm going to have to get down to his shop one Sat. to meet him.:banana:

I do as well, although I already have a 2 channel Marshall that has been completely modded to PTP by Jeff Seal, so another Marshall will be a bit redundant. I do really, really want an amp built by Scott...really badly. It will just be a matter of timing, and deciding on an amp that I want that Scott is interested in building. I've said for a long time that I want a two channel amp, and that is just not Scott's thing, which I respect. However, I keep thinking that if I already have a two channel amp, why in the world do I need another one...right?

At one point Scott was talking about building a Trainwreck clone for someone, and I'm interested in that greatly. I know Scott's had a lot going on, so I'm just waiting to see what happens.

I've plugged into one before, and used a Grosh HSS Classic. It's got a great tone, which seems like an old Marshall with gain mods. I like the bias knob on the top of the chassis, for fine tuning the bias on the fly. I really like the amp, but to me, it's $1600 worth of amp, not $3K-$4K. Not for a single channel head.

Another amp that's similar is the Fargen VOS. That's another amp I'd love to have.

They're a whole lot more like a blackface Bassman than a Marshall. Look up some Trainwreck Express schematics and you have 99% of a Komet.
