If Jimi Hendrix were alive today, which Fuzz Face would he want us to have?

I don’t think he’d be playing a Fuzz Face.

Jimi was an innovator...always moving forward.

The rest of us just follow.

I think Jimi’d be making new music with virtuosos from all fields.

Guys like Bela Fleck, Wynton Marsalis and gosh knows who else.

I doubt 45 years later he’d be interested in sounding like he did in 1967 or 68.

Good point. I'm imagining Jimi Hendrix with the Boston Pops...Symphonic Voodoo Child, Little Wing and the grand finale, Red House (Isle of Wight version of course).

oh god I would hope not.....

Again - he'd be way beyond that I would think. He might have been the first to do it.

He'd have become boring like all the other rock stars who grew old and rich.

He'd have probably kicked the drugs eventually, and sat in his huge mansion without a care in the world, he would have been totally uninspired.

Then, he'd have toured with his latest mediocre recording and/or yet another rehash of classic tunes played with a jaded soul.

See:

Clapton
Gilmour
Page
Iommi
EVH
Slash
Etc.

Cool music is made by 20-somethings who are high as a kite. Don't we know that by now?

As such, my vote would be a $20,000 private reserve PRS through a Dumble via a Klon... because he can afford it.

He'd want us to have whichever fuzz pedal he was getting paid to endorse ...

I think he’d want us to have the best tools for the job. But, you know, without getting crazy.
