Re: If you could have one guitar...

A trem, like a Super Vee Bladerunnr or a refined Fender-type (non-locking). Ideally, it would be a TransTrem.

Re: If you could have one guitar...

I'd have a down-only no fine tuner Floyd Rose. Combine that with a tusq but and you have rock solid stability with the sustain of a hard tail and no tuners to get in the way of your hand. Plus, I can't pull up so I won't be tempted to over rely on whammy bar Tom foolery.

Re: If you could have one guitar...

Hardtail
Always decked my strats and removed the bar
Most times I would loose the bar, or forget it in the case

Re: If you could have one guitar...

give me double-locks or give me death

floating preferred, but I could also live with a fixed double-locker

Re: If you could have one guitar...

Look's like a no-brainer to me.

You can always block a trem, you can never make a hardtail dive (well, without swapping it out that is).

Re: If you could have one guitar...

It would be my strat, so trem.

I'm so glad though that I don't have to have just one, so I have both :D

Re: If you could have one guitar...

A trem. You can always drop 5 springs in a Fender trem and hardtail it.
Only exception would be a Floyd Rose. Give me anything over one of those.

Re: If you could have one guitar...

Floydie McRose. The German Original.

I chose bar - I'd go Floyd or Kahler.

I can do things with one that I can't do without. Simple as that.

Same here. I do dives and such less and less with them, but I do use them for palm-driven vibratos all the time. Played a hardtail for the first time in ages last week and I kept trying to press down on the bridge and nothing happened. It was traumatising, to say the least.
