if you had $300 to burn, what pedal would you get?

Re: if you had $300 to burn, what pedal would you get?

for single coils, here is my list of pedals that get the most use:
  • OD -- the regular ole Maxon OD808 is pretty good, IMO
  • fuzz -- tone bender, fuzz face, or muff type
  • delay
  • wah

if you're playing humbuckers, than you may want to sub a clean boost for an OD, or run an OD in clean boost settings

some people use fuzz more than others, but whether you gig with one or not, they are just so dang fun, and you'll improve your dynamics by learning to play a fuzz well

a **** good fuzz pedal...... or ship it to me so i can put that towards finally having a decent amp :)

Re: if you had $300 to burn, what pedal would you get?

I'd absolutely get the best **** overdrive pedal I've ever heard: http://www.butleraudio.com/tubedriver.php

He started making these again, thankfully. David Gilmour uses two of these for his main overdrive tones.

(except I already have one, so I'd probably go for a dejavibe)

Most recent pedal purchase: small stone nano phaser, which absolutely rocks.
Next considering a Vox time machine delay.

cheers,
RLee

That's looks pretty sweet..... and you say it's based on a small stone...interesting.
I know this is going a bit off topic by why are there so many phasers but 99% of them are based of the two classic 4 stage phasers. I'd like to see some high end 6,8,10 or even 12 stage phasers.

Re: if you had $300 to burn, what pedal would you get?

i went ahead and bought a used maxon od9, used rotovibe, and a book on understanding synthesizers. i love ebay. i hate my spending habits hahah

Re: if you had $300 to burn, what pedal would you get?

Keeley Boss Blues Driver BD-2, Keeley Voodoo Labs Sparkle Drive, Fulltone RTO (Robin Trower Overdrive), Fulltone Full-Drive 2 Mosfet, Mesa Boogie V-Twin. Any one of these will do very nicely.

Re: if you had $300 to burn, what pedal would you get?

I was going to Suggest a Tonebone Trimode.
That's what I would buy.

Re: if you had $300 to burn, what pedal would you get?

What about the Black star dual drive? That sounds great, has a tube, I've read some good reveiws about it.

Re: if you had $300 to burn, what pedal would you get?

300$ is a lot for a single pedal. If I had to go for just one I'd look at BJF and Mad Professor pedals... maybe the Xotic BB+.

Re: if you had $300 to burn, what pedal would you get?

A delay pedal with a tap switch (no hold for 2 seconds BS) and patches - like the Boss DD-20.
With the things you can do with a delay it's a shame not to be able to switch quickly between a few patches.

Two Vox Time Machines should also come out at $300.

A better delay than the DE-7 is actually all I need to finish my pedalboard.

I think I paid that much for my Fulltone Deja Vibe 2 (the one with the footcontroller)
