If you HAD to choose

Re: If you HAD to choose

That's a curse in itself. :D

It's always done what I needed it to, mainly remain clear and maintain note separation under high gain. Sounds good I'm both of the SG'S and the LP I've put them in and has just enough output to not sound weak or be over the top. My one criticism if I was only going to have that one pickup is in the bridge it's not so good clean, but with the tone rolled all of the way off it sounds almost the same as the SH2n in the same guitar just with less pick attack

Re: If you HAD to choose

The Distortion set. I can get any tone I personally want from that. If I felt I needed to branch out, it can also pass at most other tones I can think of.

Re: If you HAD to choose

Sounds like I'm on my own here when I say the invader. Love how it sounds in the bridge, and I've had some good tones cleaning it up. I don't ever use sparkly cleans, so even when it sounds da somewhat gritty and dirty clean, that's what I love about it.

Custom Custom.

...and darn you for saying I couldn't mod it.
Hahahaha

I knew you guys would mad scientist all over this one if I didn't stipulate that. [emoji1]

Re: If you HAD to choose

I would say the Custom across the board for strat, humbuckers and p90's, but the product line isn't complete without a Telecaster version.

Re: If you HAD to choose

Yeah, but we live in the real world, even if the OP doesn't.
Hey blue

We gonna have a straight talk moment right now, if that's OK.

I wouldnt normally impose, but I need you to know

That I know

That I can't actually force you

to choose one pickup for the rest of your life. Straight up, I get that. Ain't nobody tellin' you what to do.

But what I can do - what I've done

Is ASK people, in a general way, IF they were in a situation where they had to make such a decision... purely as a thought exercise, a lark...

...What it would be.

And lo, you have stumbled across the question

And taken umbrage.

For that I am sorry. Truly. I did not mean to imply that I thought I could control you in any way.

You are, of course, free to ignore this question entirely, as well as any others I might ask in the future.

Re: If you HAD to choose

Another vote for the SH-5 Custom. If I'm allowed a neck pickup, I'll pair it with a Jazz.

Re: If you HAD to choose

Loaded question is loaded.
I've always thought "loaded question" meant a question that was asked because the person asking thought they knew what the answer would be, and had a response/rebuttal to that answer ready in advance. You know, loaded. Like a trap.

This isn't a trap.

It's a curse!

At least to those who like variety.

Re: If you HAD to choose

I just had better get the 4 conductor wiring options. Otherwise I'm going after the person who put the juju on me.

My answer is: Seth. That's the one PU I can't imagine not having. Works in every kind of guitar I have, and for all the kinds of music I play. Just a great PU. I've got 5 or 6 sets of them.

Totally valid, far as I'm concerned.

I only stipulated a single pickup. if the one you chose comes in a 4-conductor setup, I don't imagine the old gypsy woman would care.

I have to be honest, I haven't been able to make up my mind... though I'm leaning towards the 59/Custom.
