If you had to limit your rig to 3 pedals - what would you choose?

Re: If you had to limit your rig to 3 pedals - what would you choose?

Dynacomp
Phase 90
Verbzilla (although at optimal volumes, Franklin don't need no 'verb...in that case, OD).

Re: If you had to limit your rig to 3 pedals - what would you choose?

Fulltone Clyde Deluxe
DD-20
Throbak-stRANGE MASTER (absolutely Killer!)

Re: If you had to limit your rig to 3 pedals - what would you choose?

I'm assuming it can't be a multi, or else my rig is already only two pedals :D

I'd honestly pick a Boss BD-2 blues driver, Chorus Ensemble, and Digital Delay. I'd wish they made a combo pedal for distortion, but that would be a multi. For what it's worth, I play mainly in church so I don't need much more than this right now.

Still, I prefer multieffects. I'm just that way I guess.

Re: If you had to limit your rig to 3 pedals - what would you choose?

three....I wish you would have said 4-5
but my top 3 would be

Xotic RC Booster
TC Elec Chorus
L6 DL 4 0r Boss DD-20

if I had 2 more choices I would choose
Fulltone wah
Fulltone OCD or Spina TS9

Im VERY shocked to see so much mention of compressor pedals, and i'm a little curious to know how/why you guys are using them.

Anyway, if I were to go down to 3 pedals I'd have to go with my Teese Picture wah, Beano Boost and a fuzztone, right now it'd be my Fulltone Ultimate Octave...I'd also add my Echoplex because it's not a pedal!

I'm not shocked but yeah, the compressors are getting more love then expected and I'm also curios.

Funny, with all the love EVH gets in this forum I'm pretty surprised there are almost none phaser-flanger-delay combinations here.

Re: If you had to limit your rig to 3 pedals - what would you choose?

Overdrive/Chorus/Delay

Re: If you had to limit your rig to 3 pedals - what would you choose?

amp < Boss DD-20 < Boss BF-3 < Boss MD-2 < guitar

Re: If you had to limit your rig to 3 pedals - what would you choose?

Blackstone S2V3 OD
Analogman Sunlion Boost & Fuzz
Donnerbox Spatial Delay

That was easy !!! :D

FOUL!

I say the Sunlion counts as two pedals -- it's too good!

Well, if ya' wanna get technical........all 3 of them are dual action pedals

Dude, that's really not funny. My hamster uses that rig, and he wouldn't appreciate hearing you making light of it.

He'd be all :cussing:, and you'd be all :yell:.

And THAT's one of the funniest comments I've read in a while !!!! :laugh2:

My tuner isn't a pedal :D

Plexitone, my SD1, Big Muff

Three of these should do the trick!

I never use any other effects.

I was running that kind of thing for a while... and if I've built a "big" board it'll have two modulation stomps on it... but I've found that in a 'live' club/hall setting with a band It's really really easy for some tones to get washed out & sound more or less the same.

Phase 90 vs. Uni Vibe for instanace or having 3-4 different dirtboxes?

Better to go for the extremes IMO.

:smack:
I said no multi effects... and that's what the Expression Factory is all about... it's a multi effect shaped as an expression pedal.

BTW, what on earth would you do with those wahs and whammy pedals? aren't you into music that goes "dring dring drang drang" (that's me trying to imitate weird chords played on a strat). ;)

I love my Wah, I use it in a couple of my band's songs, and I'd love to have the flanger to add to the mix as well as a whammy for doing RATM songs when not on stage.

Re: If you had to limit your rig to 3 pedals - what would you choose?

1. Overdrive/boost (SD-1 Super Overdrive),
2. Reverb, only because my amp has no reverb(Electro Harmonix Holy Grail soon to be purchased)
3. And maybe a chorus to enhance the cleans a bit
