If you had your own signature guitar,

Re: If you had your own signature guitar,

A J-Custom made Ibanez RG:

-Ebony fretboard with custom abalone inlay.
-Swamp Ash body with a quilted maple top and the other with a flamed maple top and matching headstock (of course combined with a transparant finish)
-Dunlop stainless steel frets, size: 6100 (maybe 6000, but I never tried those except on a Malmsteen signature strat and can't judge since that one is scalloped).
-Input jack placed like on the Ibanez JEM series (so your jack is out of the way when you play sitting down)
-Schaller strap locks and hex key holder on the back of the headstock.
-Edge tremolo.
-Pearloid truss rod plate in matching color as guitar.
-Hum-Hum pickup configuration, direct mounted, with a 5 way switch that is placed more towards the bridge compared to the regular position and Ibanez wiring (Neck series, neck parallel, both series, both split inner coils active, bridge series).
-Custom wound pickups by MJ especially to my taste and this guitar.
-I am not going to specify a color, because I probably want more than just 1 of these anyway!:biglaugh: But it needs to be transparant, that is for sure!

Re: If you had your own signature guitar,

The main criteria for me is a Single cut LP style, 2 p90s, wraparound bridge in Blue Sunburst standard 4 knob layout and 50s wiring.
Brands: Gibson/Epiphone, just an LP with the above Block inlays. Gibson p90s
or PRS with the above and 25" scale length and their thicker bodies.
.

Re: If you had your own signature guitar,

Available in 6, 7, and 8 strings:

Swamp ash wings
Maple-mahogany-walnut neck through
Burled maple top
24 fret maple fretboard
Offset staggered black dots (offset to the bass side from frets 3-12, offset to the treble side for frets 15-24)
Hipshot bridge
25.5" for 6 string, 26.5" for 7 string, 27.5" for 8 string
Grover locking tuners
Bareknuckle Painkiller bridge, Abraxas neck
2 volume with coil split, 1 tone (phase inversion for neck pickup)
Various transparent burst finishes

Re: If you had your own signature guitar,

Basically the body of the Randy Rhoads LP and the neck of the Zakk Wylde L.P. Pickups would be a 496R/500T set with an A4 in the 496 and an A8 in the 500, aged gold pickup covers and hardware

Re: If you had your own signature guitar,

On second thought... if by "signature guitar" you mean an endorsement deal from a company and I get a cut for every guitar sold... then...

The $99 Squier Bullet! If I get $1 for each one they sell, I'll be rich! :D

Re: If you had your own signature guitar,

Hmmm, to get the most bang I'd prob go with a Michael Angelo double guitar but with Yngwie scalloped necks, and like 6 single coils and a piezo.
Or just a white KV2 w/ an '81

Re: If you had your own signature guitar,

My signature guitar: Pawn shop HSS Strat. Antiquity mustang neck, Surfer Strat middle, Duo Sonic and Jaguar in series in bridge position. Med jumbo frets. Volume, tone, neck/bridge blender. 11-60s in D standard.

Re: If you had your own signature guitar,

I am pretty sure mine would be weird enough that it would never sell.

Re: If you had your own signature guitar,

I'm modding my current strat in order to find out what I like the best and based on that, then build my "perfect guitar". It will be as follows:

Mahogany Tele body
One-piece maple strat neck with large headstock and black dots
22 frets
25.5 scale length

HSHS configuration (from bridge to neck):

DiMarzio X2N (bridge humbucker)
DiMarzio True Velvet middle (middle single coil)
DiMarzio D Activator neck (neck humbucker)
DiMarzio Area 58 (neck single coil)

One volume (treble bleed)
One tone
4-way tele switch (one position per PU but in different order)
1. neck Humbucker
2. neck single coil
3. middle single coil
4. bridge humbucker
Fixed bridge with strings through body
Graph Tech Ratio tuners
9-46 D Addario nickel wound strings
Strat-style input jack

Black Silhouette pickguard
All black hardware and pickups
Natural colour body
Custom headstock decal with name and model

The guitar would be a rough combination of the following pictures but with my specs. These are all Black Water Guitars, btw.

(1) This T-style body in a 6-string format (the color would be more red and less black centrally, with more black around the rim, and more linear flames)
BWG Tele Body.jpg

(2) This headstock (the finish would have to match the body)
BWG Reverse Katana Headstock.jpg

(3) This sort of Fretboard, the on/off binding, and pretty much the same bridge (BTW, amazing maple top, isn't it?)

Re: If you had your own signature guitar,

What would it be? I have thought about mine for so long, I have started building it... Well, modding one to my liking. Explain yours, Be specific and why.
Strat-shaped, HSS, Alder w/mahogany tone block and maple cap + 9-12" compound 1pc maple neck. Locking tuners and a Gotoh 510 bridge. 1 vol 2 tone; bridge tone is no-load

For pickups I'll get something A3 5.7k formvar in the neck and middle, and something A2 9k Plain Enamel in the bridge.

I'll also have it come in transparent light blue or transparent red.

Re: If you had your own signature guitar,

I've thought about making mine as a Halo custom.

Strat body (alder) in white
Black pickguard
Non-recessed floyd
Distortion bridge humbucker, 59 neck humbucker
Maple neck and fretboard
22 jumbo frets
Volume, tone, and a killswitch

I'll probably change what i want next week

Re: If you had your own signature guitar,

Now that they have the Gibson control layout and other improvements, I'd just get a PRS Singlecut 594 with a 12" radius board.
