If you order an Eminence speaker...

...be sure it's the proper ohmage before you install it. I ordered an Eminence Cannibus Rex (16 ohm) and noticed there was no mention of the speakers ohmage on the box or on the speaker itself. The Rex comes in 8 and 16 ohms and I noticed it said "8 ohms" on the spec sheet that was included. Hmmm. I called Eminence and it turns out theres a protective rubber sleeve around the magnet that can be easily taken off. I took it off and on the side of the magnet is a small white tag with some numbers on it. One of the numbers was 8 ohms. Uh-oh! I was'nt pissed because I know people make mistakes, but I would have been if I did install it and things blew up on me! I'm just glad I had my suspicions before I tried to install it. Just wanted to have people be aware of this.

Re: If you order an Eminence speaker...

You'd think that the impedance rating would be obviously labeled on the speaker somewhere. Seems kinda dumb to have to go fishing for it by disassembling components on the magnet. :smack:
