If you wanted one of these Jackson Warrior WRMG (X?) How much would you pay?

Re: If you wanted one of these Jackson Warrior WRMG (X?) How much would you pay?

ooops. apparently I can't read very well....

Re: If you wanted one of these Jackson Warrior WRMG (X?) How much would you pay?

wait, what was your original message?

Re: If you wanted one of these Jackson Warrior WRMG (X?) How much would you pay?

Is it set neck? Neck through? Bolt on? if it's anything other than a bolt on, it's a bargain. If it's bolt on, it's still probably a fair deal.

Re: If you wanted one of these Jackson Warrior WRMG (X?) How much would you pay?

Green one might be damaged through the wood in the electronics area.

The trans black one is about $100 too much.

Re: If you wanted one of these Jackson Warrior WRMG (X?) How much would you pay?

I agree, the green one I'd pass, that volume pot seems to have sank a good mm, as for the Trans Black, home-sanded back of neck (it'd be too atrocious if it were "professionally done") non-stock yet still crappy trem and no case means about 100 USD more than it should.

He has a "Make an Offer" button though so If it were me I'd low-ball it at 350 and be ok with 400 USD...

Re: If you wanted one of these Jackson Warrior WRMG (X?) How much would you pay?

I wouldn't touch that particular trans black if it were going for $200 with free shipping to Monrovia. Look at the mess it's coming out of. Yeech.

Then there's the neck, which did not come from the factory painted. Looks like some doofus tried to paint it so from the back and at a distance it'd look like a neckthrough.

That shipping-damaged WRXMG is probably firewood. The pot being punched into the wood is the least of its problems, I'm sure. My money says the truss rod shifted as well, under full tension. Then there's the possibility of jamming the bridge posts at an angle, putting cracks in the body, and stressing the headstock.

That's one I'd have to inspect in person at the shop my way before I said anything about money.

ok, screw those two previously mentioned.

i found a warrior body that's stamped "10-1 ERMG"
made in japan 2001 9.28

anybody know what an ERMG is?

Re: If you wanted one of these Jackson Warrior WRMG (X?) How much would you pay?

It's the Jackson Ermagherd model

Got a pic of the stamp?

Re: If you wanted one of these Jackson Warrior WRMG (X?) How much would you pay?

The E is a W that was rubbed off. ;)

That *might* be 2007, not 2001.

its labeled as 2001 in the listing by the seller

another thing that makes me believe its a 2001 is that the electronics controls are 3 holes for volume and tone (and possibly the 3rd hole for a turbo-charger knob for passive EMG-hz that a lot of old Jacksons used to come with), and a 3-way strat-style switch.
newer warriors have 1-vol, 1-tone, 3-way gibson-style toggle.

the DKMG was like this too. older models had 1-vol, 1-tone, 1-turbo charger, and a strat switch.
newer DKMG have only 1 volume and 1 tone

That is correct. 2001 model had 3-way blade and Volume, Tone, AfterBurner, and EMG-HZ3s. Not a bad combo, IMO. Wishing I'd kept them (well, I still have the pickups and AB, but the pickups do not have their magnets anymore).

Only thing I can never remember is if the body was basswood or alder. I keep getting them mixed up. Whatever the V-T-toggle has, the 2001 was the opposite.

This Metal Masterpiece started its life as a 2001 WRMG.

I think I got a video somewhere....

...ah, here it is. This is with the AfterBurner on about 3, working the volume knob.

Re: If you wanted one of these Jackson Warrior WRMG (X?) How much would you pay?

so back in 2001, was jackson producing guitars anywhere else besides the US and Japan?

Re: If you wanted one of these Jackson Warrior WRMG (X?) How much would you pay?

India, some say Indonesia and Korea but I've not seen proof.

The X series at that time were coming out of India, not sure of the MGs. I think it was a transition period. For about a year they moved all Professional Series (of which the MG was a sub-set) production to India except the PC-3 and RR-3, then moved them all back to Japan and created the JS and X series, which were made in India. Can't recall if that was 2000-2001 or 2001-2002.

I believe 2001 was the first year for the bolt-on Warriors, starting with the XT, and was the only one not derived from an existing Professional Series model (of course the Rhoads, SL, and DK models have been around since dirt so those were a given). The original WRXTs had a recessed jack located on the bottom of the body like the 1990 USA and Pro series WRs.

Well, I didn't see the body, just the neck pocket. ;)

Re: If you wanted one of these Jackson Warrior WRMG (X?) How much would you pay?

oh baby, i'm scoring deals left and right on this project.

scored a WRMG neck, at a WRXT price (mis-identified and mis-labeled/advertised by seller = lucky me !!!)

scored a German OFR for a CRAZY deal

Re: If you wanted one of these Jackson Warrior WRMG (X?) How much would you pay?

Nice. All mine have DK2M necks on them

i would have loved to try a dk2m neck for the maple board. but i'm doing this project as inexpensively as possible. and the few that i've found have been just a little more than i wanted to spend.

Re: If you wanted one of these Jackson Warrior WRMG (X?) How much would you pay?

Yeah, they're a bit pricey sometimes. I got lucky on a couple of them, and others it was cheaper to buy the whole guitar just for the neck, pickups, and hardware, especially when the one guy that has DL2M necks sells the nut and tuners separate.
