Grow the **** up and get some thicker skin. We're musicians. Not exactly a group known to be politically correct. If you don't like it, don't read it. It's that simple. And I don't want to hear any other crap about it. One of my good friends has a boy with Downs and my wife is friends with a lady that has 2 kids with Autism. It's not like every time we use the word retard, we're taking a pot shot at someone with an actual mental handicap.

I am moderately autistic myself, my sister is a teacher and deals with special ed kids all the time (from time to time I help and do volunteer work), I also speak locally to families dealing with autism, etc. and this really isn't that big of a deal it's a thing called context. Now if this comment was directed at a forum member making a post in a derogatory manner that'd be one thing.

But a cheap shot at one's self, this really shouldn't be a big deal.

I built an amp for a guy a while back that had to have this particular amp. When he got it, I then realized he didn't know a damn thing about tube amps. Didn't know a rectifier tube from a preamp tube. I guess that's okay since I labeled all the sockets and labeled the tube boxes. The problem was I gave him a lower gain preamp tube to try in V1 for some fun. An extra tube. But he didn't really understand and looking back in hindsight, I shouldn't have muddied the waters. He ended up sticking it in the PI slot and the tone was sucking. But, no matter how many times I had it spelled out in an email to him, he just couldn't wrap his head around it. I ended up getting him to put one of his guitar buddies on the phone with me and we got it all straightened out.

Goes to show me, never assume anything about anyone. People will buy $1300 amps that have no idea about anything.

I'm not really sure what was your point there, man. You think I misfired by choosing this amp?

I think it sounds great, but being cathode biased I'll definitely end up with a small stash of power tubes: 6L6, EL34, 6550 etc. plus the stock 6V6 which sound gorgeous.
