Re: I'll be ur best friend if u listen & comment!

I just listened to it sounds pretty good. To me it sounds like nirvana.

Re: I'll be ur best friend if u listen & comment!

Hey Bro, Sounds good. The vocal does sound Nirvana like ( I actually liked Cobain's vocals) . The little break in the song was very cool the way you played the Floyd Cramer style licks with a mixture of Satch or VH style harmonics and legato. Nice playing.......Joe

u guys know that now we're best friensicles 4 evaaa!!!!

Wow, the Cobain comparison reminds me of back in college, when some drummer dude kept on harping on me to start a Nirvana cover band with him. He used to always say that i had a Cobain thing goin' on with my vox. I don't hear it too much, but every once in a while I'll listen on playback & hear something & go, "ah, there it is!"

tanx 4 the listens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds good. I might "fatten up" the drums a bit...

thnx! something more than just a volume bump on the drums???

Re: I'll be ur best friend if u listen & comment!

hey foamer ! cool tune. i like how ur mix the vocals near the end to have 2 vocals comin in. slow and dirty.

Re: I'll be ur best friend if u listen & comment!

the drums deeeeefinately sound better in this version, i dig em the way they are, maybe slightly louder in the chorus.....

you realy "blended" the vocals at the end more, at least it sounds it....
did you add a bass? raise the volume? for some reason im hearing it more, sounds really good!
man, im begging you to at least try the feedback at the end thing!!!!

killer song, non the less....really diggin it!

I do not hear Nirvana though I do hear Glycerine -- Bush

Cool tune. I would pull back the guitar just a little to let the vocals have room. I would also drop the verb on the snare a bit and pull the kick back a touch. That should let you nudge the drums up in the mix without burying anything

I was thinking that exactly.

Exactly.

Very good tune foamer.

Well, overall, it is a nice track, but nothing spectacular. I really dig the vocals and definitely hear the Cobain influence. Definitely the best part of the song. However, the song just seems too much of a cliche to me... just too Nirvanaish.
Not a bad tune though.

Re: I'll be ur best friend if u listen & comment!

In the last choruses, "Someone took the apple that was in my eye" should be in stereo, midrange heavy (as if on a phone) and mixed farther back. The vocals need to be boosted in the mix. They are being lost as it is.

IMO, of course. I'm not a know-it-all, I just play one on the web.

Re: I'll be ur best friend if u listen & comment!

That was better than sex. It made me want to slow dance at a Jr High party. As usual, your songwriting is the highlight. I am not a big fan of the reverb (or is that chorus) you put on the lead vocals - that effect is better suited to heavy, non-ballad tunes imo. At the end where you're singing two vocal lines over top of each other, that was a great idea ... if anything it should go through the whole ending.

Overall: really cool, great song, production almost perfect.

Re: I'll be ur best friend if u listen & comment!

Loved it. The occassional harmonics and other touches that seemed jarring or misplaced on the first listen will probably be the idiosyncratic things that make the song remain interesting over time. Nice job, man. Don't make any changes that are going to make it sound like every other friggin' song out there.

Bitchin' choon Foamy, i don't care about the mix or your tone or any of that crap, i know a well written song when i hear it, and thats a damn nice song right there.
