I'm a very sloppy player.

So I'm unplugging the pedalboard, using the smallest cable I can into the amp's clean channel for a week :D Should be fun...

Re: I'm a very sloppy player.

Better yet - start playing your guitar acoustically. :)

Re: I'm a very sloppy player.

I do that all the time...If I plug in I can play along backing tracks easily... louder = easier to pick mistakes :D

Re: I'm a very sloppy player.

Record a lot, and double/quad track your stuff. That's honestly the best practice I ever had, and the only reason I play as cleanly as I do.

Re: I'm a very sloppy player.

Not got any recording gear, can't afford any either. I'm laying off gear for a while :( Cool advise though, will recall!

Re: I'm a very sloppy player.

Hey, it works for Joe Walsh. Slop away!

Ahh, but the difference is that most play sloppy and it's totally obvious. Joe can play sloppy and be very graceful about it. That is why I  to Joe Walsh.

I find that if I play for an hour every day, my playing gets cleaner and cleaner. There's some slop in there still, and probably always will be because of my style, but it's a lot better than it used to be, at least I've been told that...LOL.

Oh, I agree ... I love everything about Joe.

I figured you did. I love his theory about wrong notes. Hit it twice and slide up to the right note. Crazy as it sounds, it actually works most of the time...lol.
