Wish I could help you out but I had my hotrails installed by someone else.
Don't feed it to the birds, the hotrails is an awesome pickup!

Do hotrails have the red and white leads like other SD pickups? I had the same issues until I figured out you have to wire the red and white wires together to get it cooking.

Well, problem solved. But the ohmeter on the black/ground leads of the hotrails, ony registered around 6 1/2 ohms. I assume it's dead? I tried all the leads, and didn't get anything over 7 ohms. I guess I"ll just resolve to sticking it in my Jackson's middle position for looks, so all my Jackson's pups will say "Seymour Duncan".

The only solution I found with a similar problem was to start from scratch

so what do you get from the black and wire pair? the red and green?
