Not really a tip or clip...well I guess it's a tip. I found this guys art work and approached him to let me use this image for the song "I'm Alive" which will go on iTunes and he agreed. He does 3D illustrations of vintage air craft in war time situations - really beautiful stuff.

Here is the story Deiter posted about the image:

October 13, 1944, shortly after engaging Allied Lightnings, claiming one shot down, "Addi" suffered an engine failure due to a ruptured oil line. The edge of a farmers field near Duren has made a convenient landing area for the stricken 190.

“Addi” Glunz flew a total of 574 missions, including 238 with enemy contact, and achieved 71 victories. In addition to his confirmed victories he had ten unconfirmed victories, possibly as many as 15 according to some sources.

Adolf Glunz passed away on August 1st, 2002, being afflicted with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's since 1986.

Thanks for sharing the story.. Makes the image more perfect IMO..

Looking at it, he is standing there, after a crash landing, as if proclaiming he is ALIVE.. And then hearing the story, he had alzhiemers and parkinsons, (my G-ma died of parkinsons), this seems to tie in with the original reason of the song..

Bro, I really think the song could be a smash.. As an American metal head, Ive been told by my friend from Brazil that Americans are pretty oblivious to what music is big in other parts of the world, but I see the song ushering back
this style of music back here. And I think DB mentioned that style is pretty big over in his neck of the world. I really wish you luck with it.. I know this prob belongs in the other post.. sorry..

The guy who did these two images in this thread does not have a web site and those are the only two I could find, but...this place has more artists doing similar images some of them are great!
