I'm back!

El Dunco

Sock Supplier to RHCP
Sorry for my absence. But I'm pleased to announced there's been some cool new developments in my absence. My band Fragmenta signed with a new distribution label and as well as putting our last single out, this being the 10 year anniversary of our debut album SEDITION, I have been remixing and remastering the entire album it to give it the sound I always wanted it to have but didn't have the know-how at the time. The label has just released the first track of the album in all its remastered glory as a promotional single.

And for soundcloud listeners

There will be more of these to come until the entire reissue comes, plus a making of mini-documentary in the works. If you were a fan of our debut back in 2011 or if you enjoy great sounding thrash metal with a unique twist, you will definitely like this.

Enjoy friends!

Prize for whoever guesses what amp is being used on the rhythm guitars (no tricks, this was before I blended amps and it's not modeled or using IR cabs or anything)

It should be pretty obvious for anyone familiar with that sound, it's VERY distinct (at least I think so.)

Great stuff man!
Captures many of the best elements from 80's classic thrash.
IMO the individual instrument tones are very raw sounding and the mix is polished. That's exactly what I prefer, especially for metal.

Hat trick! Label approves, fans approve, forumites approve. I'll take that as a ringing endorsement for my recent production abilities. The original 2011 version (which thankfully I still have the multitracks to make this possible) show the sounds were definitely there, I just had much less of a clue what I was doing 10 years ago. Glad you like it man!

Back when we recorded it, we noticed there was something happening when we played together in rehearsals and shows, so we had the whole band play together for the final drum tracks (all acoustic btw) that I feel would have been missing if it was just the drummer playing off one guy and/or a click so it's great to hear that comes through. I'm a fan of 90s productions when the polish was there, the reverbs dialled back but the performances were still natural sounding. I'm sick of this need to use DAWs to grid everything and remove the human element.

Btw, this song is all JB (I found the stock Duncans that came with my Schecter sounded really heavy and big, The DD was a bit cleaner and clearer so that was on the more technical songs and one song had an Invader) and Dimebucker for the solos)
