I'm getting my first tube amp!

...if i do well on my exams...im studying very hard..i mean who wouldn't if they had a tube amp waiting for them? my dad decided to get me one.

i played a hot rod deville..40 watts i think, and man, the clean tone was to die for.
I need an amp that can do clean REALLY well.
but i also play punk, so i need something that can sound great on distortion too.

so what should i get? i can't go above 900bucks.

The hotrod Deville with the right stomp box ( Distortion) will give you all
the growl you want. Sound like a good choice to me.

i love those amps...

their built in distortion leaves a little to be desired...

but if you're running pedals in front of it...then a really good clean is what you want...and it has one of the best cleans i've ever heard!

yep, I'd go with the Deville too. I have a Twin, and you just can't beat Fender cleans.

The Peavey Classic 30/50 and the Delta Blues are apparently really nice options too though. I have only briefly played on them, but they seemed like good value, and had a good clean sound.

Yeah go a fender like that and get some sort of distortion pedal for it, and it'll sound great!

Ha!! That's interesting. My dad promised the same thing. If I do well on my college exams this year he said he would buy me a good tube amp. Then again my dad is full of empty promises that are never kept. Plus he is really poor. He wouldn't even be able to buy me the crappiest and cheapest amp there is. I had to save up for my custom Jackson all by myself. Not a dime did I get from my parents.

well, my dad keeps promises, humphrey bear, after all, he was the one who bought me my fender strat after i got straight a's for the whole year.

See the hot rod deluxe too. I have one and have awesome clean sounds and sound good with a dist pedal. Congrats.

I have an ENGL screamer (50watts) and it is a great amp. I don't know if you can get one of this in EEUU (they make them in Germany) but they sound great!

I use a Boss Drive Zone for my distortion needs. It has 4 user presets, so I never get bored with my tone! :13:
