I'm Getting Ready To Have a Whole Lot Of Sunday Fun, But I May Need Some Of Your Help

I just spread out each of my Marshall 1960 cabinets about 10 feet apart in my living room. They're on each side of the TV. I'm going to set my rack which consists of my Eleven Rack and a Gem Sound XPS 1000 on the living room table, and hope that I sound great.

Now, what I need to know before I do this is about hooking it up.....I think. I'm pretty sure I know how, but I just want to check to make sure.

This is the back of the power amp:

and this is the back of the Eleven rack:

Now, I have all of the speaker cables and everything that I think. I'm thinking that I'm going to run from the main output left (mic cable) of the Eleven rack into the input of the Channel A (mic cable) of the power amp. Also run the main output right (mic cable) of the Eleven Rack into Channel B (mic cable) of the power amp. From there I run my Speakon cables from the Power amp into each Marshall 4x12 sepaerately. hopefully this all makes sense.

I will be setting each of my 4x12 cabinets at 4 ohms and running them in stereo. Or should I run them at 8 ohms in stereo? I'm thinking that either 4 ohms or 8 ohms will be fine. It's not like I'm going to be playing it 11 billion dB or anything.

What do you think? Am I going to do it correct? Thanks in advance!!:)

Here's the specs on the power amp:

  • 750W RMS @ 8 ohm bridged mono
  • 375W per channel RMS @ 4 ohm
  • 250W per channel RMS @ 8 ohm
  • Left-Right level controls
  • Parallel stereo bridged
  • Ground lift
  • Inputs: 1/4" and balanced XLR
  • Protect LED, Peak LED
  • Fan cooled
  • Rack mountable 19"W x 3.5"H x 14"D
  • 115V/230V switchable
  • 35-1/5lb.

In your living room? I'd run 8 ohm. Easier on the amp, and just as loud for all practical purposes. YMMV.

EDIT: No need to hope. You will sound great/godlike.

Re: I'm Getting Ready To Have a Whole Lot Of Sunday Fun, But I May Need Some Of Your

I just got off of the phone with my buddy D1DSJ over in the UK. I think we decided that I'm going to have to run it at 4 ohms because of my cabinet.

As soon as I finish playing this Madden football game on the playstation I'm going to crank it up.

I'm looking foward to taking the speaker model off of the Vintage 30 and seeing how the Eleven Rack sounds through my G12T-75 cabinets.

Re: I'm Getting Ready To Have a Whole Lot Of Sunday Fun, But I May Need Some Of Your

Holeeeeee Fureeeeakin Crap!!!!!! Oh My God!!!

I am blown away!! I really am. This is just blowing my mind. I defy anyone to hear what I am playing right now and tell me it doesn't sound like a tube amp. This is really blowing my mind. The funny thing is, I bypassed the modeled Vintage 30 cabinet that I was running through on the Eleven Rack. It didn't sound really right to me. So, I put the modeled Vintage 30's back on, and that tone is running through both of my G12t-75 cabinets. It sounds freakin HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The stereo spread is blowing me away as well. I have this mutha f'r cranked up too. It sounds absoutely amazing. I wish a bunch of yall lived close by so that you could hear this. It's really amazing sounding.

honestly, all that I can say is Gawd Dayem!!!!!!!

Oh yeah, welcome to my living room at the moment....lol

Some hearing loss in the elderly is to be expected, some would say positively encouraged...

Re: I'm Getting Ready To Have a Whole Lot Of Sunday Fun, But I May Need Some Of Your

thats awesome man, you prolly have stereo rigz running for right and left, and they are at low tolerable volumes so you are using your cabinet modeling. rock!!!
