I'm kinda torn.

First world problem: which PRS model should I get next? The Mike mushok of the fredrik Akesson? I decided that I afford either one, it basically jus comes down to features. My main concern is if I got the Akesson I would have trouble adapting to the 24.5 scale length. I normally play 25.5, and my finger tips aint tiny.

Re: I'm kinda torn.

Visit a dealer and try both. Only you can decide.

Re: I'm kinda torn.

I personally Love that scale length but I agree with Funkfingers. Go find you a guitar center and sit down with em both. I own a 245se and i must say its a super nice guitar. Cant go wrong with a PRS

Re: I'm kinda torn.

Another idea. Many PRS SE guitars have the compromise 25.0" scale length. Buy one of those and install whatever "special" pickups the signature models have.

I found a good deal on both with SD's, and most of the singlecut versions have the toggle switch by the knobs. I think I'm gonna get the Mike Mushok.

Re: I'm kinda torn.

Isn't the Mike Mushok a baritone? This right here should be the deciding factor: Do you want a baritone or not?

Re: I'm kinda torn.

For the record: I do not like either artists. The reason I can get over the fact that there sig models is because I found them with duncans and I already know I like PRS.

Re: I'm kinda torn.

It is. I could probably tune to D standard just fine with smaller strings than it ships with though.

Baritones are designed for low tuning. You expressed concern in the OP about adjusting to scale length. I think trying to play a baritone in a tuning just one step below standard would be *weird*. Unless you're specifically looking for a baritone, I think I'd skip it.

Re: I'm kinda torn.

You dont like opeth?

The hell no wonder you debated over getting a Synsyter Gates guitar.

I have a special word for you kinds of metal fans.

I like *some* opeth. I like Bloodbath more. Can you just drop the whole Synyster thing? I look back at my fanboism as embarrassing. I haven't really gotten in to opeth very much yet. I was trying to ask not to treat me like a fanboi because I like the features of a sig guitar. Grump, you are not giving me many reasons to like you.

Nah dude get a baritone if your after a baritone. The PRS is 27.7 inch scale length. Tuned to D that would be one tightly wound sonfableech. For giggles I have my Jackson baritone sitting here and its only 27 inch scale lenght and i just tuned it up a whole step to C and I think thats way too much. Get the right tool for the right job unless your gonna use a baritone tuning bag the idea of the mushok

Re: I'm kinda torn.

I use the Mike Mushok for some stuff, and the Fredrik Akesson is really just a Les Paul. Nothign really special about it. THe mike Mushok is a baritone and it's probably one of the best built baritone guitars I've played.

Re: I'm kinda torn.

Baritone tuning I believe is either C or Bb.

I think its like a cello which would be C.

Violia= C
Violin= E
Cello = C
Bass = E

O tune my Baritone to Drop B. I use like 46's on it though, so that probably explains it.
