I found a black silver tone, but don't know anything about them. Educate me on the silver tone guitars please.

If there's one thing the world isn't short on, it's cheap Strats.
What era of Silvertone are we talking about? That name has changed hands more often than a neurotic poker player.

Ha! +1. Whenever I go pawn shopping, the challenge is to find something that's NOT a cheap Strat.

How much money constitutes "cheap"? $400 could be considered "cheap" relative to a $1200 Fender USA. $200 could be "cheap" relative to a MIM Standard.
Ooops. Nevermind. Silvertone would be cheap as in $100.
Didn't Paul Stanley play a Silvertone? Surely not a "cheap" one, but you got the brand name thing going on :jester:

I really like the late 80's early 90's Epiphone S310s, here's one on eBay for a little more than I paid for mine (I paid $120 off of CL.) Also had a T-310 (here's one on eBay as well)...wish I hadn't sold those guitars, great tone and had very nice necks–perfect for practicing and taking to a gig you don't want your nicest guitar at.

What a coincidence. I've got an old S210 sitting on my bench right now, that I'm thinking of listing on the Trading Post. It has the cool "Batwing" headstock. Like this: (Although, mine is all black.)
Also, it's MIK, which I like just a smidgen more than "made in:" China/Taiwan/Indonesia.

Sweet man! I actually prefer the Explorer/Hockey Stick style headstock better
But yeah, MIK is something I prefer over MIC, MIT, MII...although the Indonesian Jacksons I've played recently were awesome.
