I'm off 2 minds for this Korina Explorer build

On the one hand I am considering something that feels like this guitar looks. Just a balls out rocker. Something like a set of Dirty Fingers. High output, pure rock.

Buuuuut, maybe I have too many sets that do something similar. The other option is something with a ton of clarity. I'm not sure what that is. Pearly Gates? APH2?

What plays nice with Korina?

Low output PAF type without a lot of bass.

WLH, possibly Pearly (not the greatest for clarity, but pretty good), Jazz

Pg is my go-to for clean to rock crunch
And I may have been lucky because it has worked with with every guitar where we installed a PG.

Not so sure about the p rail with Korina but I do know a lot of people like the p90 and parallel humbucker sounds.

My current favorite pick up for clean to crunch is the railhammer hyper vintage. Take a look at the construction and you'll see why we are recommending that pick up for crunch to clean. It was designed for Reverend korina guitars and it's ridiculously good as a humbucker or split or parallel.

I have an explorer-style korina 7 string and threw a custom in the bridge and a distortion in the neck. I like it because I'm mad that way, but sometimes I feel I could benefit from less bass and maybe even less output. So overall if I was choosing the pickups, I'd opt for something on the treblier side of the EQ spectrum.

+1 on the Railhammer HyperVintage, great pickups with excellent clarity on the low strings.

I have Bareknuckle Rebel Yells in one of my korina Explorers, a nice kind of midpoint between modern & vintage character. Really good bridge pickup - bright crunch & singing leads, cleans up nicely when rolled back. The neck is vintagey yet very well-defined, a really really good neck humbucker.

Saturday Night Specials are a good recommendation too, I think - A4 mags can do well in korina.
