I'm on the search for a 56 Reissue Goldtop

If any of you see a nice used reissue 56 Les Paul goldtop, please let me know. I'm sorta on the hunt. It's the one with the tuneomatic bridge and the p90's. NO wraparound, no trapeze bridge.

I may have a line on one. I just tried to call and got VM, but I'll let you know if I find anything.

www.56lp.com

With their sale, I figure they will sell the gold one for somewhere between 1700-1800. No sales tax for you. New for the price of used. Only 3 left. Too bad you don't like the plain top burst. Brazillian board. Hmmmmm.

Well, my first guy sold the one that he had, but he pointed me in the direction of another guy who had two of them for sale a few days ago. I'll check it out tomorrow.

I've got a line on a new one for 2050 shipped.

I'm being told +/- $1250 for a clean used piece. Let me know if you want for me to call this guy to see if he still has them.

That's insanely low for a 56RI. They go for $2050 new at Daves and usually go for around $1800-$1900 used.

did you check out the one at music machine? They will discount the music machine price by around 25-30%. That puts the guitar I put up around $1,700 - $1,800. Not bad for a new guitar. You may or may not like the 60s neck on that one.

Disclaimer: I'm in no way making a shot at Epiphone users. I have owned them and they're decent guitars. The Epi 56 GT is among the best. I just know what kind of gear Scott has.....

Re: I'm on the search for a 56 Reissue Goldtop

Well, I have a replacement Godin goldtop P90 coming my way today. It's going to be my new travel guitar. But I am jonesing for the real thing.

I'd like to find a murphy aged 56Ri, but they don't make them any longer. I'd probably trade my PRS for one if I could get lead on it.

It's like, I know the PRS is a fantastic guitar and I should just shut up and stick it under the bed for a year, but I just like the big fatass 50's les paul necks more than the wife-fat PRS necks.

What? You don't like my suggestion?

Seriously, didn't you have a PRS McSoap at one time?

Ahhh.....

I gotcha...

I think there's just something really cool about a 56 GT. A big chunky Les Paul in antique gold powered by P-90s...
